Deuteronomy 6 – What is Righteousness? It’s clearly defined in Scripture. 2023

Deut 6:25
“And it will be righteousness for us if we are careful to observe all this commandment before Yahweh our Elohim, just as He commanded us.
You know people ask what is righteousness? There’s is your answer. That is one of these passages that is a definition of a term, okay? I love that part makes it easy, makes it easy. What is righteousness? Well for us it's being careful to observe all the commandment which Yahweh or Elohim gave us that's what righteousness is for us, and scripture has quite a few of those in there I remember
2 John 1:6
And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
Love is walking in His commandments that He gave way way back. 1 John tells us sin is lawlessness. See there's your basic definitions of terms that are not defined in church sin love and righteousness and are plainly given in scripture plainly given in scripture.
1 John 2:29
If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.
You know the new covenant gives us that desire to do His ways, it brings us closer to Him through obedience to his Torah everyone who practices following the Torah is born of Him, is born of the Father.
1 John 3:6-7
No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. 7Little children, let no one deceive you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;
That's deep, that's a pretty strong statement. It's very true, if we practice righteousness, we're righteous just as Messiah is. Now here's the thing that's kind of like my son he's a doctor he's practicing medicine and I asked him when he's going to actually quit practicing and actually do the real thing. See we're practicing this is our practice what do we know but he the practice medicine because that's what he does well we practice Torah because that's what we do. That's our practice, doesn't mean we're perfect but that's our practice. {Tom speaking: Yeah, you've heard the term practice makes perfect, yes but it doesn't, practice makes continual improvement. Right.} {would you repeat what you said Wednesday night? The scriptures about the Father. Oh yeah what the scripture is about, and we talked about that Wednesday night going over the psalms and in understanding the psalms it's obvious in all of scripture is about just four things it's about the people of Israel, the land of Israel, the law given to Israel and the king of Israel it's about those four things. Sure, there's yeah those are the four basic groups though and they all overlap. Yes yeah is like you know accidentally working on the sabbath or something you know because you don't think you know well I understand we won't reach perfection we know that, we don't reach perfection there are some things maybe if we eat in restaurants that we're going to ingest or on the naughty list but you know this is why we support each other, and why we meet.
