According to the Associated Press, President Trump opened his remarks by celebrating what he called a “massive precision strike on Iran,” which he claimed to have personally authorized. He once again asserted that Iran’s nuclear program had been “obliterated,” despite early U.S. intelligence reports casting doubt on the extent of the damage.

“We call it the 12-day war,” Trump said, referring to the recent conflict between Iran and Israel, and declared that, from the U.S. perspective, the hostilities were officially over.
