Hercules 1983 stars non other than the magnificent Lou Ferrigno and B movie queen Sybil Danning. Directed by the “legend” Luigi Cozzi who brought us Starcrash and “Cozilla”. With its blend of action, myth, and a dash of campy charm, this movie has retained its cult status over the years.

The revival of Hercules was motivated by the hype surrounding 1982's Conan The Barbarian. Menahem Golan also told Luigi Cozzi that he was a fan of the old Italian peplums, and wanted to make one as soon as he opened an Italian branch of his Cannon Films outfit.
“Released in 1983, ‘Hercules’ is a film that transports audiences back to ancient Greece, a land filled with gods, monsters, and epic quests. Directed by Luigi Cozzi, the film is an extravagant interpretation of the Hercules mythos, blending elements of science fiction and fantasy. Ferrigno, renowned for his portrayal of the Hulk in the ‘70s television series, embodies Hercules with an immense physical presence and charisma that is hard to ignore.
The story unfolds as Hercules, the son of Zeus, embarks on a quest to reclaim his rightful place among the gods, facing numerous trials and tribulations along the way. Notably, the film features a unique twist, weaving in futuristic elements, which makes it stand out from traditional adaptations of the myth. With a fascinating mix of genres, ‘Hercules’ encapsulates a world where ancient legends collide with science fiction fantasy in magnificent ways.”
