If you follow my channels, you know that I play classical guitar but have an affinity for centuries old music. This piece was written in 1876 by Philip P. Bliss and modified by James McGranahan in 1877.
I wonder what it would be like to have no sound compete with your music. There was no beeping, no electricity, no cars, no jets or airplanes. it was silent. Those days may never return, but they are recorded in history in sheet music form.
I use piano music from The Seventh Day Adventist Hymnal published in 1981 by Review and Herald Publishing Association in Hagerstown MD.
I learned the piano rendition, transformed and transposed it to a guitar piece of my own creation. Finally, I memorize it.
All this is quite a task.
This piece is exceptionally beautiful. it is in a 9/8 time signature, but it sounds natural.
My main channel is Daniel Hake Classical Guitar. it is on Rumble and YouTube.
