Nearly One-Kilometer Tunnel Discovered: More Proof Trump Was Right
The discovery of a nearly 3,000-foot-long (over 900 meters) clandestine tunnel between Mexico and the U.S. has shaken the nation. While progressive media outlets attempt to downplay the story, millions of Americans know exactly what this means: for years, Mexican cartels were allowed to operate with impunity, flooding the U.S. with deadly drugs like fentanyl that now kill thousands of citizens every month.
This is exactly why more than 77 million Americans voted for Donald J. Trump—because they knew that without strong borders, there is no nation. Because they understood that the Democrats’ open-border policies weren’t “humanitarian,” but rather an invitation to chaos, crime, and tragedy.
A Tunnel to Death: Fentanyl, Firearms, and Organized Crime
The tunnel—built with professional engineering and equipped with ventilation systems—was used, according to federal authorities, for years to smuggle industrial quantities of lethal drugs into U.S. territory. Most of these substances were destined for America’s most vulnerable cities, where the overdose crisis has claimed over 100,000 lives in the last two years alone.
“This tunnel is a highway of crime,” said immigration attorney María Herrera Mellado in a recent interview. “Every pound of fentanyl that went through there represents a life lost in the U.S.”
And the interviewer asked a question many citizens are now echoing: “How complicit were the Democrats for allowing this tunnel to operate for so long?”
Democrat Silence: Negligence or Complicity?
The truth is, this tunnel wasn’t built overnight. It took years. Years in which security agencies, weakened by ideological policies and budget restrictions imposed by a Democrat-controlled Congress, were unable—or unwilling—to act.
The discovery reopens a vital national debate: Can a country survive if it doesn’t control its borders?
One Democrat congresswoman who recently called for “mass amnesty” for millions of illegal immigrants has come under intense criticism. How can you ask for forgiveness and legalization without first securing order and safety at the border?
“The message they’re sending is clear,” Mellado noted. “Break the law, and you’ll be rewarded. That destroys the soul of a nation founded on the rule of law.”
ICE, Security, and Clear Priorities
During the interview, Mellado also responded to those who argue that ICE should only focus on “dangerous criminals” and leave “peaceful workers” alone.
“That sounds nice in theory, but in practice, that’s not how the law works,” she explained. “U.S. immigration law is clear: if you’re in the country illegally, the government has the authority to detain and process you. Period.”
The Trump administration has made it clear: everyone must be in the U.S. legally and in an orderly fashion. The path forward is not chaos or exceptions—it’s law and order.
A Responsible and Effective Immigration Policy
Mellado also emphasized that, contrary to leftist narratives, U.S. immigration law is generous. It allows for waivers, humanitarian visas, and reconsiderations. But exceptions cannot become the rule.
“Under the Biden administration, we saw humanitarian permits used as pretexts to open the border,” she stated. “That only benefited human trafficking networks and organized crime, which now dominate the border.”
Trump has taken a different path: real agreements with countries like Mexico, strategic use of technology, and international cooperation. “Today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is in Mexico offering technological and legal solutions to stop drug trafficking,” Mellado explained. “That didn’t happen under Biden or Obama. It’s happening under Trump.”
The Narco Connection: Claudia Sheinbaum and the Latin American Left
One particularly alarming claim by Mellado was the alleged relationship between foreign governments and organized crime. “Just days ago, Claudia Sheinbaum’s government admitted to being in constant cooperation with criminal groups,” she said. “That deserves immediate diplomatic consequences and sanctions.”
The Trump administration hasn’t hesitated to confront these kinds of complicities. The president has made it clear: the U.S. will not tolerate governments that function as partners of the cartels.
Conclusion: Trump Was Right All Along
The tunnel discovered at the border is not just another criminal case. It is a symbol of everything that was wrong with past immigration policy: a system without control, without oversight, without consequences.
But the change has already begun.
Trump has brought security back to the heart of the national conversation. He has reminded the world that sovereignty matters. That borders matter. And that every American life lost to fentanyl is a tragedy that could have been prevented.
This is why millions voted for him in 2020. And this is why millions more support him today.
Because Trump doesn’t ignore tunnels.
He destroys them.
And rebuilds a nation—from its foundations to its border.
