EU and Canada announce new security and defense pact

The European Union and Canada announced on Monday (June 23) a new security pact following the EU-Canada Summit in Brussels. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the agreement will strengthen Canada's role in Europe's "defense architecture." Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said the new partnership provides for "increased cooperation across the full spectrum of security."
