Tithing Covenant Vow

Life Song Church is stepping up to a higher level of authority. I believe God is again saying to us, “Come up Life Song Church! John 1:51 And He said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

Prophetic Word: “The Body of Christ is moving into a greater revelation of Jesus Christ as King of Righteousness after the Order of Melchizedek.” We are stepping through a door into the Morning Star Authority Mantle.

2 Peter 1:19-21 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Gen 14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said: "Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand." And he gave him a tithe of all.
This tithe was given before the Nation Israel was created and before the Law (Ten Commandments) was given. The tithe was part of entering a covenant with God Most High. Theologians believe at this time Abram was stepping into the Melchizedekian Priesthood. He acknowledged God as Sovereign, Provider and Protector.
Melchizedek means “King of Righteousness.” Hebrew word “melek” means “king.” “Zedek” means “righteous.” Right after Abraham tithes to Melchizedek, God makes a covenant with him.
Gen 17:6-8 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. 7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.

*Covenant Strong’s #1285 Hebrew berit (beh-reet), compact, pledge, treaty, agreement. God’s irrevocable pledge is that He will be God to Abraham and his descendants forever. This is the foundation stone of Israel’s eternal relationship to God. All other Biblical promises are based on this one. *Word Wealth SFLB Gen 17:7.

Gal 3:26-29 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Hebrews 7:1-10 is subtitled “The King of Righteousness” and it explains about Jesus being our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. The word “tithe” is mentioned 7 times! Hebrews chapter 5, 6, and 7 Melchizedek Priesthood.
In the New Covenant, tithing cannot be done under law, because it would not be given in righteousness. For it to be done in righteousness, it must be a personal decision by faith of the heart believing Jesus is KING OF KINGS. The original tithe was given to acknowledge God as Sovereign, as Provider, as Protector, foreshadowing our Lord Jesus Christ as the High Priest forever after the Order of Melchizedek.

Jacob made a vow with God to enter the Covenant that God made with Abraham. The “vow” was to tithe to God as He is Sovereign, Provider and Protector. Jacob needed God’s protection because his brother Esau sought to kill him. Esau like Nimrod was a hunter, a man of the field, wild and powerful.

Gen 28:10-22 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. 11 So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.

12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. (John 1:51 Jesus said angels will be ascending and descending on Him).

13 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: "I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. 14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. 15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you."

16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it." 17 And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!"
18 Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it. 19 And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city had been Luz previously.

20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, 21 so that I come back to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God. 22 And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God's house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You."

Jacob is saying God is Sovereign, Provider and Protector; he will enter the covenant God made with his family (Grandfather and Father) and walk it out with a vow to tithe. When Abram entered into the Covenant with God, his name was changed by God to Abraham (Father of a Multitude). When Jacob entered into the Covenant with God, his name was changed by God to Israel (Prince with God).

Gen 31:11-13 Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, 'Jacob.' And I said, 'Here I am.' 12 And He said, 'Lift your eyes now and see, all the rams which leap on the flocks are streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted; for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you. 13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar and where you made a vow to Me. Now arise, get out of this land, and return to the land of your family.'"

Anointed Strong’s #4886 mashach; to rub with oil especially to consecrate someone or something. From mashach we derive the word mashiyach (Messiah), “anointed one.” Messiah translated into Greek is Christos, thus Jesus Christ. Believers are called Christians which could also be translated, “anointed ones.”
