To look beyond

To look beyond left and right is to transcend; it is to become aware that there is a larger system that includes both left and right. Distinctions are useful for survival. It is hard to live without awareness of the larger system—the greater whole that includes all parts.

To fixate on parts is necessary for survival, but it's not enough for living fully or thriving, for embracing life in all its potential. To bring awareness of the larger system that includes all parts and more is to transcend.
