Kathleen Kennedy’s Legacy on the Chopping Block | Rey Star Wars Movie Looks Done

Disney and Lucasfilm made the announcement that they are delaying the announced Rey Star Wars movie until an undetermined time.

The Rey movie has been stuck in production hell for several years. While they have a director signed onto the project, the biggest hangup is developing a script. So far, a number of writers have signed onto the project before eventually leaving. One reason for the string of writers is the feedback from studio head Kathleen Kennedy. Rey is often criticized as one of the worst additions to Disney Star Wars, and the character is also the creation of Kathleen Kennedy. This is a project that would ordinarily been scrapped, but Kennedy will insist it moves forward as long as she’s with the company.
