2 Corinthians 12:7-21

Picking up from where we left off last time in chapter 12, verse 7; we continue to consider Paul's 'thorn in the flesh', with emphasis on the words 'buffet' and 'thorn'.
- Other Bibles (not based on the Received Text) have changed the word 'buffet': the ESV, to 'harass'; the NLT, to 'torment'. We are guided by the words of Mark 14:65.
- Much has been speculated also about the thorn. Given the many things Paul suffered (as listed in 2Corinthians 11:22-28), why would men prefer to think the 'thorn' was eye problems?
- Paul wrote that he may have wronged the Corinthians, and asked them to forgive him. What was the 'wrong' Paul thought he may have committed?
- How many visits did Paul make to Corinth? We discuss the options.
- Some, to this day, consider Paul a dishonest cheat by his own words, 'being crafty, I caught you with guile'. We consider this statement guided by the context.
