COLLABORATION: Dealing with our challenges

ONE OF THE most commonly said things about the shooting industry is that we need to work together.

The fact is our industry is really large. It is worth around $5b each year to the Australian economy, employs hundreds if not thousands of people in some form, and enjoyed by around 900,00 licenced shooters.

With over 90 organisations nation-wide (covering thousands of clubs and ranges), it’s logical to see if its possible to at least agree on what needs to be done to stem the political attacks on what we do.

However, we think that the main problem is that we don't have the right people in place - not yet anyway.

In this episode we look at the very real opportunity that the National Gun Conference provides to break through that glass ceiling, and plea to some individuals we think are going in the wrong direction to change tack, to enable us to do that.

We may not be holding our breaths, but nor are we prepared to give up.

This episode is based on our own personal opinions and should be treated as such. We acknowledge there is always 'another side to the story’ but at the end of the day, want to see what can be done together.
