Iron Eagle II is a 1988 action film directed by Sidney J. Furie and written by Furie and Kevin Alyn Elders. It is the second installment of the Iron Eagle film series, with Louis Gossett Jr. reprising his role as Charles "Chappy" Sinclair, alongside newcomers Mark Humphrey, Stuart Margolin, Maury Chaykin, Alan Scarfe, Colm Feore, and Clark Johnson.
The film follows a joint U.S.-Soviet strike force assembled to wipe out a nuclear base in an outlaw nation that plans to take the world hostage.
The story involves American and Russian pilots teaming up to take out a terrorist site in the Middle East that is developing nuclear weapons.
The film received negative reviews, with some critics finding it to be a poor sequel to the already preposterous original.
Despite this, it was nominated for three Genie Awards.
