America’s first flag was approved in 1777. In 1949, June 14th was the date established as our National Flag Day.

Flags are not merely seen as colorful pieces of cloth, but as potent symbols that encapsulate the essence of nations, states, cities and groups. Flags symbolize a country’s ethos, communication unity, pride and identity to its citizens and the global community. (Source: biblestudytools.com)

Every nation has a flag even if it is only identified as a “state” flag as in Nauru.
What does the Bible say about flags: I found 28 verses and more information here: https://sarata.com/bible/basic/verses/about/flag.html

Jeremiah 50:2 “Give it out among the nations, make it public, and let the flag be lifted up; give the word and keep nothing back; say, Babylon is taken, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is broken, her images are put to shame, her gods are broken.

What does our American Flag design symbolize with the color fields of red, white and blue?
The flag’s design includes 13 stripes (7 white, 6 red) representing the original thirteen colonies and on the top left, a field of “Old Glory Blue”, rests 50 white stars representing each state of the Union.

Red: Symbolizes valor, bravery courage, sacrifice, and the blood shed by those who fought for the nation's freedom.

White: Represents purity, innocence, and the ideal of a just society. It also symbolizes the nation's independence and adherence to its founding principles.

Blue: Stands for vigilance, perseverance, and justice. It embodies the nation's commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting its citizens.
