If your Family isn't your Priority Today, When will They be?

"My doctor said I have 5 years left...I'm 150lbs overweight" A father told me this a few weeks ago after he asked about our father transformation program Men Of Fire.

After talking with him for a bit he revealed he's been overweight for 15 years, used to run marathons in college, knows what to do in the gym knows what to eat but can't get himself to do it.

Now he has diabetes, constant health problems, no energy to play with this kids, no sex life with his wife, and the doctor told him he has 5 years left if he doesn't change.

"How important is this to you" I asked?..."It's life or death. I don't want to be this for my family"

When do you want to do something about this? I asked him..."I'm looking to start something next year when things slow down for me. We have vacation coming up, my kids are in tons of sports and this is busy season for work so now is not a great time, but definitely soon"

When you read this you can see the lack of logic and irony. But inside that man's head it all makes sense. These are the rules he lives his life by and the self-sabotaging patterns peace keeps himself stuck in.

You always start "tomorrow", you only begin when you're ready, and obstacles and resistance in your way mean you can't move forward.

In this man's head any reason to not take action is a reason big enough to not take action. He sees it as "I'm just not going to the gym... The gym isn't that important" he needs to see it as "I won't be here for my family in 5 years and I'm setting my children up for a life of pain"

His perspective is why he's perpetually stuck. he's only thinking about todays actions, not the consequences of today's actions.

You are worth it in your family is worth it. RISE👊🫵
