My EEG Experience at Gold Coast University Hospital: First Step After a Seizure
I’m opening up about my recent health journey after having a seizure at home a few weeks ago. I had an EEG (electroencephalogram) at Gold Coast University Hospital to track my brain wave activity. The process was actually pretty chill—small gold disc electrodes were placed on my scalp, and the test took just 20 minutes in a comfy chair. They even used flashing strobe lights to test for seizure triggers (no issues, phew!).
A camera in the machine recorded me for the neurologist’s review—less weird than I thought! As a busy mum, my brain was buzzing with work and chores, so no napping for me, even though they said I could.
This EEG is the first of three tests, with a cardiac stress test and MRI brain scan up next. All results will head to the First Seizure Clinic for review.
Stay tuned for more updates on my journey! https://direct.me/suvisjournalism
