said we have to protect children from making irreversible decisions about their bodies.

But Paul Begala asked “From whom?”—before pivoting to a talking point about gun control.

Maher wasn’t having it.

“They’re two completely different issues. And by the way, the issue is quite the reverse. Like out here in California and in New Jersey, it’s the schools who are not allowed to even tell the parents.”

Caught off guard, Begala backpedaled: “That’s crazy. I’m consistent. Parents should decide this, not schools and not politicians.”

Maher pressed again: “Who’s not being protected? I don’t understand your point.”

Imagine being the guy who said, “What about guns?”—while they’re literally sterilizing children on a mass scale.
