In 2007, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPCSC) held a meeting and set a timetable for Hong Kong’s universal suffrage. It was decided in 2007 that the Chief Executive election could be conducted by universal suffrage in 2017, followed by universal suffrage for all Legislative Council members. Wouldn’t it have been enough to honor this commitment, to pilot universal suffrage in Hong Kong, and then gradually extend it nationwide? Why didn’t they?

Because the Chinese Communist Party wants permanent one-party dictatorship and perpetual tyranny! Never expect a dictatorial, criminal, and tyrannical party to return political and civil rights to the Chinese people.
