The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have assassinated Ali Shadmani after being appointed chief of staff of Iran's Military.

The IDF announced the killing of Iran's top military commander on X as the Israel-Iran conflict has entered its sixth day.

“The IDF has eliminated Iran’s War-Time Chief of Staff, the regime’s top military commander,” they posted.

“Ali Shadmani, Iran’s senior-most military official and Khamenei’s closest military advisor, was killed in an IAF strike in central Tehran, following precise intelligence.”

Shadmani was killed during overnight strikes in Tehran after the IDF received intelligence, creating a rare opportunity to target the highest-ranking leader in the Iranian armed forces.

Shadmani before becoming the newly appointed military leader, played a pivotal role in coordinating missile and drone attacks along with hostile operations against Israel.
