First clip is from 2021, a news cast answering a viewer question “Does the United States federal government pay ransoms to foreign terrorists?” Which was answered by the former Pentagon official as “No” and further mentions that supporting terrorism financially is a crime under federal law. The second clip is a Fox News clips from 2016 - the $400M cash payment Obama authorized to Iran and the simultaneous release of 5 hostages.
