Teargas in the air outside an ICE facility in Portland last night as anti-ICE protesters were pushed back by police

Anti-ICE demonstrators had gathered outside the facility Wednesday evening, in one of several recent demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement to take place in the South Portland neighborhood

A firework was launched towards police around 10:30pm, and numerous announcements were made stating “This is the Federal Protective Service. The facility is closed and not open to the public. Stay out of the area of the driveway to allow for vehicular traffic. Remain on the sidewalk or across the street. Anyone, to include the press, trespassing on federal property is subject to arrest” prior to the use of teargas

A few arrests were made, and some of the crowd dispersed following the teargas deployment
