Operation Unthinkable: The Rotten Roots of NATO

In April of 1945, with President Franklin Roosevelt's body still warm in the grave, Winston Churchill sent a direct request to the British Joint Chiefs of Staff to draw up a war plan for the invasion of Russia. Termed "Operation Unthinkable," Churchill's insidious plan called for the invasion and possible dismemberment of Russia in order "...to impose upon Russia the will of the United States and British Empire..." Further, the plan was described as "a very long-term project and would involve: a) the deployment in Europe of a large proportion of the vast resources of the United States. b) the re-equipment and reorganization of German manpower and of all the Western European Allies.”

In typical Perfidious Albion fashion, no American military or political leaders were informed of this plan, but were clearly expected to whole heartedly jump into a new world war with Russia, including with the use of nuclear weapons! Sound familiar?

This week Diane will be joined by EIR researcher Richard Freeman to explore the current life and death implications of this continuing British policy which, not surprisingly, has brought us to the brink of thermonuclear war.
