19 Year Old Female College Student Detained By Immigration In Colorado

On 06/05/2025 Grand Junction Co, A 19 year old female college Student was on her way to visit a friend. A Mesa County sheriff deputy pulled her over for Traffic infraction. She was given a warning and allowed to continue on her travel. The Sherriff Deputy allegedly tagged her in a immigration chat group for law enforcement. In next county she pulled over and detained by ICE.
As of 06/18/2025 she had a hearing Wednesday morning in immigration court and family members say she is to be released on bond pending receipt of her bond payment.
A Mesa County Sheriff's Office press release outlines the apparent misuse by immigration officials of information meant for a multi-agency drug task force which led to her detention by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
