The Very Best of 1980's Music Vol 2.

For the most part it was British and arguably had more of an impact than the later era of 90's BritPop.

These tracks may or may not have hit No1 or have been Top 10 chart toppers but they've stood the test of time as classics and of course there were hundreds more out there that could have been included too like 'True' by Spandeau Ballet, 'Vienna' by Ultravox, 'Fade to Grey' by Visage or anything by Japan, The Smiths or Bauhaus etc... but with only around two hours total to fill in, these tracks still encapsulate an era where creative expression with audio innovation was never in short supply, sampling and AI was unheard of, and AutoTune would have seriously been frowned upon.
It was certainly more than just a trend, phase or fashion, it was a miniature Renaissance, a period where we probably won't ever see the likes of again.
