Gal. 6: 7-10; 1 Samuel 7: 3-6
The Children of Israel were called by Samuel to worship and serve the LORD only: Israel did not feel they rejected the LORD; they felt they only added the worship of other gods to their worship of the LORD. Samuel called on Israel to turn their backs on these other gods and serve Him only. That is kinda where the Church is today … People feel as if they need to add to the Word of God in order to be pleasing to the LORD. And false teaching adds to the sufficiency of Christ, 1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
