This is one of the most personal—and haunting—cases I’ve ever covered.

Craig Abrahams wasn’t just a name on a police file. He was my friend. We met while working out at Neighbourhood Gym in downtown Vancouver. Charismatic, funny, and street-smart, Craig got pulled into a world that eventually consumed him.

By 1995, Craig had gone from nightclub doorman to cocaine dealer at the Odyssey—undercutting rivals and making enemies. He got tangled in a volatile love triangle involving a transgender woman and a fiery Russian woman who once held a knife to his throat. Craig told me things—deep, disturbing things—and when he was found brutally murdered in his West End apartment, I shared everything I knew with homicide detectives.

His murder remains unsolved, and the case is now listed on the Vancouver Police Department Cold Case Files. But what you won’t find in that file is the raw truth I share in this episode—what Craig told me, how he changed, and why I believe his murder is far more complex than most people realize.
