UMHLANGA LIGHTHOUSE saving ships since 1954

Like a beacon in the dark shining its light for ships to see, the lighthouse stands unassumingly and erect, blinking its bright eye for all to see. Find your way, but don't smash into the rocks. Since 1954, the lighthouse at Umhlanga Rocks has been patiently outliving all it has since saved from shipwrecking. Except for the people in recent times of course. Sure a lot of them are still alive. But most likely, the lighthouse will stand long after they're all gone, asif to shout HERE BE DEATH; COME NOT CLOSE. IF YOU'RE ON A SHIP OF COURSE. IF YOU'RE ON FOOT, YOU CAN COME CLOSE AND TOUCH THE LIGHTHOUSE. And so forth and forth.
