Aletin and the Falling Sky: A Mocovi Myth

Retold by Melinda Lilly and illustrated by Charles Reasoner.

The story retells a traditional Mocovi myth from Argentina. The story follows a young man named Aletin, who is hoping for a peaceful day without any troubles. However, he notices that the sun, Dazoa, is hanging motionless in the sky. Aletin uses his throwing stick to help the sun slide down for sunset, restoring normalcy. That night, however, the star Amanic falls from the heavens, and Aletin must put it back.
