TREATY 8: Hear the ORIGINAL Words— Decide for Yourself

In this video, I read the full text of Treaty 8 out loud and provide plain-language explanations to help make its meaning clear. Far too few Canadians — including those most affected by these historic agreements — have ever actually read the treaty for themselves. That’s a problem, because when people don’t know what the treaty really says, it becomes easier for misunderstandings and misinformation to spread.

By watching this video, you’ll gain a solid, firsthand understanding of the treaty — something that can help bring clarity to conversations where confusion and false claims often take over. For Indigenous people in particular, knowing exactly what was promised and agreed to remains as important today as it was in 1899.
