This 1996 Law Explains ‘Expedited Removal’ of Illegal Aliens in the USA & ‘Due Process’ Argument

Like it or love it, the 1996 IIRAIRA, grants the authority of removal of illegal aliens to DHS, via ICE, in programs like 287g, after an interview and an order of removal is issued. This 1996 law also grants authority to DHS for funding to militarize and enforce all borders, when needed.

This process has been used by every president since its inception, including now, in 2025, by the Trump Administration.
