Meet Donna – Episode 18 of Voices from the Curb
Donna is 69 years old. She’s been drug and alcohol free her whole life. A graduate of Tupper High and University of the Okanagan, born at St. Paul’s Hospital, she once managed luxury hotels in San Francisco.

She fell on hard times and has now been homeless for 6 months, though she’s lived in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for 17 years.

Despite her strength, education, and resilience, she’s alone. She sleeps on the streets outside shelters because they're too dangerous inside—riddled with untreated addiction and mental health issues.

Donna is desperately trying to reconnect with her daughter in Kelowna and her three grandchildren. No support agency has helped her, and she has no one left.
