Homesteading Rants: Seasoning a Skillet, How and Why

Do you want to use that great old iron pan you found at an antique mall, or inherited with grandma's stuff, but you find it makes your food a sticky mess? Well, you need to use it differently--probably with more oil than you're used to, but even if you use it well, even if you're careful when wiping it clean and never use detergent, you still will likely have to re-season it from time to time. Here my buddy and I get a well-used skillet that's been collecting carbon back up to par.
