"She is going to go down ... as one of the biggest fraud and crooks in our generation. $20 million to one of her friends in a law firm — for what? For voting irregularity or something."

"This is a woman who for 2 years said that she was the governor of Georgia. She lost by 50,000 votes to Kemp."

"She's never really won anything since she was a state representative. She's failed in everything she's run for ... she's not very competent. She's not an appealing character. She's hard left. She's up there with Hunter Biden and Joe Biden in grifting."

"There should be an investigation of her and her financial impropriety."

staceyabrams
was at the Bilderberg summit this past week. She will be the (D) candidate for US President in 2028. They pick our leaders. They choose one (D) and one (R). Both candidates have agreed to their terms. The only person who wasn’t a Bilderberg choice - Donald Trump.

Fair Fight Action Lawsuit (2018–2022):
After losing the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election to Brian Kemp, Abrams founded Fair Fight Action, a nonprofit aimed at combating voter suppression. The organization filed a lawsuit (Fair Fight Action v. Raffensperger) alleging that Georgia’s election practices, including voter registration and absentee ballot processes, were discriminatory and unconstitutional.

The lawsuit, initiated in November 2018, was one of the longest voting rights bench trials in the Northern District of Georgia. In October 2022, U.S. District Judge Steve Jones ruled against Fair Fight, finding that Georgia’s election practices did not violate the Constitution or the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Some claims were resolved by changes in state law, while others were dismissed due to lack of standing or insufficient evidence.

Critics, including Kemp, described the lawsuit as a politically motivated attempt by Abrams to challenge her election loss.

Legal Fees Controversy: Fair Fight Action paid over $25 million in legal fees between 2019 and 2020, with $9.4 million going to Lawrence & Bundy, a law firm co-founded by Allegra Lawrence-Hardy, Abrams’ close friend and campaign chair. Between 2019 and 2023, the firm received over $20 million. Ethics watchdogs raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, suggesting the payments could constitute self-dealing or misuse of nonprofit funds. The high legal costs contributed to Fair Fight’s $2.5 million debt in 2023, leading to staff layoffs. Neither Abrams nor Lawrence-Hardy commented publicly on these allegations.

In 2019, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust filed a complaint with the IRS, alleging Fair Fight used funds to support Abrams’ political ambitions, including travel expenses and ads featuring her. The IRS’s resolution of this complaint is unclear.

New Georgia Project Campaign Finance Violations (2018):
The New Georgia Project, a nonprofit founded by Abrams in 2013, and its affiliated New Georgia Project Action Fund were fined $300,000 by the Georgia Ethics Commission in January 2025 for violating state campaign finance laws. The groups admitted to 16 violations, including failing to register as an independent committee and not disclosing $4.2 million in contributions and $3.2 million in expenditures supporting Abrams’ 2018 gubernatorial campaign. These activities included canvassing, literature distribution, and social media advocacy.

This penalty was the largest campaign finance fine in Georgia’s history. A spokesperson for Abrams stated she had not been involved with the organization since 2017, and the groups’ attorney, Aria Branch, expressed disappointment but accepted the outcome.

In 2019, the Georgia Ethics Commission investigated whether the New Georgia Project illegally coordinated with Abrams’ campaign, as it shared staff and resources that promoted her candidacy.

In February 2025, the Georgia Senate launched an investigation into the New Georgia Project and Abrams’ ties to Power Forward Communities, which received $2 billion from the Biden administration, though no specific legal outcomes from this probe have been reported.

Personal Financial Issues:
During her 2018 gubernatorial campaign, Abrams faced scrutiny over personal debts exceeding $200,000, including $54,000 owed to the IRS, as well as credit card and student loan debt. Republicans, including Kemp, criticized her financial management, questioning her ability to oversee Georgia’s budget. Abrams settled the IRS debt in 2019 and openly discussed her financial struggles, attributing them to family medical expenses. She framed these challenges as relatable to many Americans.

In 2016, Abrams was accused of failing to disclose $30,000 paid by Michelle Nunn’s campaign, funneled through a company linked to her sister. Abrams described this as an oversight, not a legal violation.

Abrams held a minority stake in a financial services company that contracted with the state while she was a state legislator, which she did not disclose to Democratic colleagues. This raised ethical concerns about transparency, though no legal violations were confirmed.

Third Sector Development, another nonprofit linked to Abrams, faced seven tax liens, including three in 2019, for failing to pay state unemployment taxes. Abrams attributed these to clerical errors.

Other Allegations:
Some X posts have made unverified claims, such as Abrams being forced to pay a $500,000 fine for “stealing” campaign funds or using the Black Panthers for voter intimidation. These lack credible evidence and should be treated as inconclusive.

Attorney General Chris Carr claimed in 2025 that the U.S. Department of Justice dropped a lawsuit against Georgia’s Election Integrity Act at his request, alleging it relied on false information from Abrams and her entities. No specific legal action against Abrams resulted from this.

Summary:
Stacey Abrams has not faced criminal charges or convictions, but her political and nonprofit activities have drawn significant scrutiny. The most notable issues involve Fair Fight Action’s high legal fees and potential conflicts of interest, as well as the New Georgia Project’s campaign finance violations, which resulted in a record fine. Personal financial disclosures and nondisclosure of business dealings have also raised ethical questions, though Abrams addressed these publicly, often framing them as common challenges. Ongoing investigations, such as the Georgia Senate’s probe, may yield further developments, but no arrests or additional legal actions have been confirmed as of June 15, 2025.
