"The Reluctant Stowaway"
In the series premiere, the Robinson family sets off on a mission to colonize a planet in the Alpha Centauri system. However, their journey is sabotaged by Dr. Zachary Smith, a secret agent who becomes trapped aboard the Jupiter 2. His reprogramming of the robot to destroy the ship causes the vessel to veer off course, sending the crew hopelessly adrift in space.
