Two Minnesota Lawmakers Shot in Targeted Attack, Suspect Allegedly Impersonated Law Enforcement
Two Minnesota lawmakers, State Senator John Hoffman and State Representative Melissa Hortman, were shot at their homes in Champlin and Brooklyn Park early Saturday morning. The suspect, believed to be impersonating a police officer and wearing body armor, is at large, prompting a shelter-in-place order. The shootings are being investigated as targeted attacks, and the conditions of the lawmakers and their spouses are currently unknown.

Multiple sources confirm the suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, wearing black body armor over a blue shirt and blue pants, and potentially impersonating law enforcement.
A shelter-in-place order was issued in a 3-mile radius of the Edinburgh Golf Course in Brooklyn Park.
