An Arm and a Leg: The Price of New York Politics | APOSTATE RADIO 018 (feat. Jesse Arm)

The State of New York has been a stronghold for Democrats for many, many years. The last Republican candidate for President to win the state was Ronald Reagan in 1984; the last Republican to serve as the state's Governor was George Pataki, from 1995 to 2006. The last Republican to serve as Mayor of New York City was Rudy Giuliani, serving from 1994-2001.

With 29 Electoral College votes, this state has long been considered the East Coast bulwark of the Democrat Party machine. However, with state and local leadership becoming far too enamored with doting on illegal immigrants while simultaneously appeasing affluent, midwestern white gentrifiers of Socialist bent, New York is a state that is quickly becoming competitive for the GOP to make inroads once again.

So why does it seem like Republicans aren't stepping up to the plate to take advantage of the opportunity?

Tonight, we speak about this and many other issues with Jesse Arm, Jesse Arm executive director of external affairs & chief of staff at the Manhattan Institute!
