Workers at the St Rollox mail centre, Springburn, Glasgow, expected to process 2.2 million items in ONE DAY - including 250,000 to 300,000 parcels. Traditionally, December 12 is the busiest day of the postal year. Some 11,000 Royal Mail staff are working around Scotland, assisted by 1,100 temporary workers.
