It's absolutely simple because it say what it says and you can't add anything to it.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Almost all Theologians from the early church fathers right up to this day very believe that The Apostle John closed the canon of scripture with these very verses at the end of Revelation.

When you add to these by teaching something that is clearly not there this warning applies to you.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Clearly, how You are saved (Grace) and how You are not (works)?
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

The clear path, Hear the word, Believes on God who sent Jesus, then You are transformed from death to life.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Luke 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 and Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
