The HK CC9 – Compact, Sleek, but Not My Everyday Carry

Today I’m taking a close look at the HK CC9, a slim, striker-fired 9mm built for deep concealment. It's sleek, well-built, and manages recoil far better than you'd expect from a pistol this size. But does it make the cut for everyday carry?

I ran it appendix carry, tested it under pressure, and put it through reload drills with some solid copper 96-grain Velocitas 9mm rounds—huge thanks to Velocitas for sending those out.

Performance was impressive, but I did run into some challenges. With my medium-to-large hands, the grip felt cramped and I pinched my hand on the mag exchange more than once. This pistol might be a great backup option or work well for smaller hands, but it won’t replace my go-to carry just yet. If HK ever drops an XL version—count me in.
