Art Shepherd, a candidate for the GOP nomination for St. Mary's County Commissioner, switched from being a Democrat to run for the post he lost in 2010 to Republican Dan Morris and is now campaigning for election on the theme of Smart Growth, the hallmark of Democratic Governor Parris Glendening's two terms as Maryland governor. Shepherd canceled at the last minute to be at Fitzies Marina on Breton Bay, so all there is to see from the interview is this empty chair.
