5min video. just wanted to make this video about the starter motor and a warning about the number of teeth the starter has. mine is 11 tooth but there are starters on ebay that have 9 teeth, so beware and pull your starter out before you order your replacement. i pulled mine out now cause i can hear funny noises from the starter area when starting my motorcycle when it's cold. wanted to take the opportunity to count the teeth before i order a new one and have it on stand by just in case. unfortunately i haven't seen any merchants using dimension to help confirm you get the correct starter so i suspect it will be a hit or miss when ordering. what i can say is make certain the merchant claim the starter is for the CG250 engine or the make of your motorcycle. using the photos i put in the video can also help you pick the right one or you can just look at your own starter when ordering a new one. i cannot take responsibility if you order the wrong one that's why this video is just me doing my thing to keep my motorcycle on the road. i will also include a disclaimer. i can only give you a tip or warning to help you out.
the bolt hole center to center measurement is 51.5mm to be exact

UPDATE: 6-24-2025 i bought a new starter as a back up and it does fit but i didn't go as far as starting the engine but the motor gear was the same size as the original so i don't expect it not to work, should be fine. it is the one shown and it did come with a new power cable. i paid $32.50 on ebay

Disclaimer: I am not a certified motorcycle mechanic, this video is me showing what I did to keep my motorcycle on the road. I in no way saying this is the proper fix or the only fix. If in doubt please take your motorcycle to a certified motorcycle mechanic and or a proper motorcycle repair shop.
