BioShock Infinite | There's only one way for Booker to end the cycle of suffering...
Gameplay Part 3 (Finale)
Indebted to the wrong people, with his life on the line, veteran of the U.S. Cavalry and now hired gun, Booker DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia. Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape. Together, they learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, as they fight on zeppelins in the clouds, along high-speed Sky-Lines, and down in the streets of Columbia, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret.
In this playthrough we cover:
Comstock House:
Booker and Elizabeth arrive at the foreboding Comstock House, only to be separated immediately. Elizabeth is captured by the Boys of Silence and dragged deeper into the facility, while Booker is forced to navigate its nightmarish interior alone. Inside, he faces waves of hallucinations and twisted enemies as he desperately searches for her, uncovering more of Comstock’s deranged religious experiments and the mental torment Elizabeth has endured while imprisoned.
The Atrium:
Within the cold, echoing walls of the Atrium, Booker fights through increasingly bizarre and unnerving challenges, reflecting the madness of the house and its warden. Surveillance devices in the form of the Boys of Silence heighten the psychological tension, punishing players for missteps as they stalk through corridors.
Warden's Office:
Booker locates the Warden's Office, a grim epicenter of Elizabeth’s captivity, where the twisted ideology of Comstock and his enforcers is laid bare. Through recordings and visions, Booker witnesses the Warden’s obsession with repentance and control, a microcosm of Comstock’s belief system.
Operating Theatre:
After enduring waves of enemies and psychological pressure, Booker successfully disables Elizabeth’s containment systems, finally freeing her from the cruel procedures meant to condition and suppress her abilities. Reunited with Elizabeth, Booker finds her changed—wiser, sharper, and now fully awakened to the extent of her powers. The setting is as much a psychological battlefield as a physical one, as they confront the implications of the experiments that made her the key to opening tears between realities.
Hand of the Prophet:
Booker and Elizabeth board the Hand of the Prophet, Comstock’s enormous airship fortress looming over Columbia. Their final mission begins: to confront Comstock himself. As they ascend, the skies erupt into full-blown war. The airship becomes a battleground filled with zeppelins, automated defenses, and waves of elite foes loyal to Comstock’s vision.
Hangar Deck:
Booker must eliminate resistance forces and secure the airship’s docking area. Here, Elizabeth proves herself a formidable ally, using her powers to manipulate reality by opening tears, summoning weapons, and assisting in combat. Together, they press forward toward Comstock.
Engineering Deck:
As the battle intensifies, Booker and Elizabeth push into the Engineering Deck, disabling the ship's systems to prevent Comstock's escape. The environment is chaotic and tense, with enemies fiercely defending the vessel. Elizabeth’s expanding abilities provide vital support, altering the tide of battle and showcasing how far she’s come from a frightened captive to an empowered partner.
Command Deck:
At the airship’s command bridge, Booker confronts Comstock in a deeply personal and philosophical showdown. The confrontation culminates in Booker killing Comstock, but instead of resolution, new questions arise. Elizabeth reveals the truth about her origins and the multiverse—how every choice and every version of Booker and Comstock are linked by a single moment in time. The realization sends the story spiraling toward its metaphysical climax.
Sea of Doors:
In the hauntingly beautiful Sea of Doors, Elizabeth guides Booker through a limitless space filled with lighthouses and parallel realities. Here, Booker understands the full weight of his past—the baptism he took to "wash away" his sins after Wounded Knee, the moment that split his reality into Booker DeWitt and Zachary Comstock. To prevent an infinite cycle of suffering, Booker allows himself to be drowned by alternate versions of Elizabeth at the moment of his baptism, erasing Comstock from every universe. The game ends with a quiet, ambiguous note—one last glimpse of a peaceful life, or perhaps just the hope of one.
