▶️Unleashed Shadows In The Deep Review◀️

Alright so the album opens with the absolute brutal OSDM fast frantic savage riffing, Rumbling bass and blasting drums with that classic raw filthy OSDM production making a triumphant return once again. The vocals and instrumentation are once again on fucking point for the genres evolution into pure death metal meets rock and roll driving groove with the track “The Final Silence” The nice slow down about midway through the song has a lot of that doom like laden riffing with a deep sense of foreboding atmosphere before picking up into a very infectious catchy hook inducing riff driving your neck into a headbanging frenzy. Now, a lot of people might consider this “Catchy? But I sure as hell don’t . Now lyrically and emotionally this song is all about mass destruction and the annihilation of mankind. With lyrics alluding to not giving a shit if it all ended tomorrow and emotionally the riffs and vocals definitely convey those emotions and themes! This is groovy fucking OSDM the way it should be. There is also a sick solo wrapping up the track before it explodes back into that frantic blasting savagery that it opened up with! Sick song here ladies and gentleman!

Next up we have the track “The Immortals” and right away we are treated to a great doom laden slow death metal crawl with a sick deep low tuned infectious groove once again. With a lot of that same rock and roll approach that they touched on with “Where No Life Dwells” Now once again are very decipherable and not so guttural and low that you can’t understand Johnny. Insturmentally the drumming is primitive and stripped back. The bass is thunderous and can be heard on this album a little bit more which is awesome! More of the groovy hooks continue on throughout the track before it slows down into a break before it picks back up in tempo. This is one of the slower songs on the album but again the fact that this could almost be considered doom/death metal with that deep overtone of rock and roll (think motorhead meets death metal) and what you get is a perfect combination of what OSDM was comprised of with so many bands. Now lyrically and emotionally this one is all about hells army rising and spreading pestilence and plague throughout the land like an ancient war between good and evil. The music definitely creates that atmosphere as well because of the production! Another absolute killer OSDM classic!

Next up is the track “A Life Beyond” and this opens up with a really awesome riff with some savage double bass drumming and tremolo picking guitars and a sick savage bass line underneath. The faster brutal tempo is back on this track with riffs swirling like a chaotic cloud of destruction and fire from the depths of the deep itself. The beastial riffing and savage primal drumming reminds me of a savage beast rising from the depths of blackness that slowly wants to devour the souls of the mortal. This one has a lot of black metal elements going on and there is a really cold icy atmosphere to this track and those higher notes in the guitars really remind me of ice cold black metal. It then slows down into an almost thrashing, groove rock and roll stomp that makes you bang your fucking head and scream with Johnny! Lyrically this one is all about longing for an existence beyond this mortal coil, touching on subjects like anti Christianity and anti human ideologies its easy to see why this track has a lot of black metal influence in it! Killer fucking song here as well ladies and gentleman!
