Apparently Sagrado are classified as Slam death metal? However I don’t really hear it in their music… other than the really inhuman vocals. If I may be so bold as to say that the goal of this genre is absolute brutality with no regard for melody, or hook inducing riffs or anything resembling a pleasing listening experience. I definitely praise them for this approach and sensibility.

Now if there was one band I would consider buying music from in this new style of BDM it would be Sagrado as these guys are very talented and know their insturments very well. Kier Gallardo is definitely a very killer drummer and the double bass and blasting is just insane on this record. He also has some incredibly inhuman fills that he manages to execute with immaculate precision here. One thing I will note here is the production as I do think it is far too clean and if it was a lot more raw I think the album would have an even more brutal and inhuman feel to it? But again these are just my insights and opinions into the music that is presented here on “Basterdized By The Decrepit Whorebeast” And we are going to listen to one of the tracks on this album for sure. Now some of you may be wondering “I thought you didn’t like this style of death metal” well let me be frank about one thing here guys… I do love Brutal Death Metal if it is done right.

This is a modern approach to the genre and I am going to respect what Sagrado are doing here because like I said the talent that is presented here is fucking immense and the band definitely know what they are going for on this album which is just all out brutality that eviscerates you from head to toe and leaves you in a pile of battered body parts and guts strewn about all over the fucking concrete.

Yes, I am doing my best to fully appreciate this for what it is. After all this is the next generation of BDM and bands have to find their way in this genre and Sagrado certainly are in my opinion? Trying to be as innovative as they can to an already oversaturated genre. But they definitely do an incredible job of delivering an absolute skull pummeling brutal fucking sick savage record with “Basterdized By The Decrepit Whorebeast”

Now what is abundantly clear with Sagrado is that the violence and perversion in the song titles and music itself is very intense.. I can imagine some of the most heinous abhorrent crimes being committed as I listen to this album. Pure violence and murder emit themselves from the instrumentation and vile vocal style. One thing I will say about the vocals is that I wish there was actually intelligible lyrics because im interested to know what the fuck he is saying throughout the album!

But I digress as I am being led to believe that much like Raw misanthropic black metals vocals.. (that are basically another instrument) I am guessing that this vocal style has that similar goal in mind of being another instrument within the framework of the music here as well. What is presented here is incredible precision instrumentally and the songs are not that varied and are rather primitive in their approach and direction. This is not a “Technical” band by any stretch of the imagination. That is one thing I will give this album as its not concerned with technical prowess nearly as much as it is concerned with visceral brutality and violent imagery and inhuman vocals. The album is incredibly effective in what it is going for. Now this is a rather short album clocking in at just over 27 minutes
