Knocking

There are many defenses—coping strategies, ways to survive and make existence more bearable—attempting to escape what is, the present moment.

How else can we approach the limit and what’s beyond—who is beyond? How can we engage and remain connected when there is no answer, or when there is an answer we can’t understand?

Ultimately, we are meeting the ultimate, and the ultimatum is to stop trying to understand. That’s the prerequisite to meeting: surrender. It’s letting go of attempts to understand, control, hold, and opening up for That which is beyond to touch us, move us, let it in—unexpected, unknown, unpredictable.

It’s knocking. It’s always here. Sometimes it is so loud it’s almost silence. If we go into that silence, that silence is filled.
