A limited curfew has been ordered in downtown Los Angeles following several nights of unrest. Mayor Karen Bass announced the curfew—effective from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.—after peaceful immigration protest rallies escalated into looting and vandalism. The curfew covers a 1-square-mile area and exempts residents and workers.

More than 100 people were arrested Monday night, and over 200 since Friday, according to law enforcement. Businesses were damaged, and protests continued Tuesday near federal buildings, with some demonstrators briefly blocking the 101 Freeway.
