Gains Along the H-20 Highway and North of Toretsk

In the latter half of May, Russian assault units escalated their offensive operations in the direction of Kostiantynivka. As the conflict continues to escalate, battles are unfolding across multiple sectors, with significant engagement occurring in the vicinity of the railway junction near Dyliivka and along a chain of Ukrainian strongpoints situated along the H-20 highway. Operating in small assault groups, Russian forces continue to gradually breach AFU defenses in the southwest and northeast of Toretsk.

A meticulous chronicle of combat events in the specified region is provided herein.

Russian military forces initiated their advance on the approaches to Dyliivka in mid-May, targeting positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the vicinity of the railway station of the same name. Under the protection of artillery fire, assault units advanced into the built-up area and established defensive positions in the vicinity of the railway line.

On May 18, Ukrainian units were dislodged from several strongpoints between Dyliivka and Druzhba. In the ensuing days, Russian military forces consolidated their hold on the railway and initiated a clearance operation in the eastern sector of Dyliivka.

In the southwestern sector, armed confrontations have emerged in the proximity of communities situated along the H-20 highway. On May 17, Oleksandropil was liberated during an assault. Subsequently, Russian forces advanced into the northern sector of Stara Mykolaivka, where intense urban warfare persisted for approximately ten days.

By late May, the Ukrainian defenses near Zoria had been breached due to pressure from two directions: Oleksandropil to the west and Romanivka to the east. The liberation of Romanivka, Stara Mykolaivka, and Hnativka was the result of a coordinated operation.

The conflict in Zoria, a settlement divided by a river, persisted for several days. In early June, the village was fully cleared of Ukrainian forces.
