World's largest animal sanctuary is in one of the most fire prone areas of the country. With up to 1500 animals on 115-acres to protect against wildfire, DELTA Rescue has its own fire department. 7 engines and 5 stationary fire pumps are run year round to be at the ready.

During the Palisades and Alta Dena fires there was over a mile of fire hose deployed around the sanctuary, staged for a firestorm. One fire did pop up two miles away, but the wind was blowing away from the sanctuary so it was safe.

Leo talks here about almost 40-years of fires that have threatened the sanctuary. Learn what you can do to defend against fires following his example.
