Ambitious, yes. Tough, yes. Unnecessary, hoh yah.

2025 EDIT: This is a painful one. This was a game that none of us could play when we were kids. Not because of its content, but because of its anti-piracy protection. It was set up in a way, much like Marvel's X-Men for the NES or Metal Gear Solid for the PS1, to where you can't proceed unless you have the manual or the packaging, and because my father was part of the local Copy Club (These were abundant in the 80s), we got ALL of our Commodore games thru piracy, and this was one of them. You have to know, through the manual's instruction, to press a certain key to open the hangar bay hatch before you can proceed. That was their copy protection.
