JOH 14:15-18, “If you love ME, keep MY commands. And I will ask the Father, and HE will give you another advocate (comforter, helper) to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept HIM, because it neither sees HIM nor knows HIM. But you know HIM, for HE lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
This particular Greek word παράκλητος paraklētos in the original language, Greek, is used only 5 times in the NT.4 of those 5 times are found right here in the upper room discourse, the other is in 1st John.
The Holy Spirit is a Person of the Trinity. All the references to the HS are personal pronouns: HE the helper for example, all masculine pronouns.The Holy Spirit is the 3rd Person of the Trinity - One GOD Who reveals HIMself in a plurality of 3 Persons: GOD the Father, GOD the Son (Yeshua), and GOD the Holy Spirit.
GEN 1:26, Then GOD said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness (GEN 1:26).GEN 3:22, Then the LORD GOD said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil.GEN 11:7, “Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”
GEN 1:26, Then GOD said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness”. (GEN 1:26).GOD = Elohim (אֱלֹהִים ĕlōhîm, plural). Yhe verb עָשָׂה āśâ = make or create, this is in the first person, so it is the action of Elohim (plural, so that is how we get let us make…)
It says the “Us” refers to GOD (Elohim = plural) called a meeting with the angels and got them involved in this final creation. As well as their involvement in GEN 3.
The problem with saying the us is GOD and the angels is that GOD Who is far far greater in wisdom and knowledge than the angels, why would HE ask them the angels for advice about creating man? A second explanation is that the “Us” refers to a plurality of GODs. Many cults give this as an explanation. But the Bible clearly and repeatedly states that GOD is One.
