Upper Little River, NC 401 to Ross RD 6/11/2025

Van, Gene and myself, went to scout out this local favorite of ours, and check on status of downfall and possible bringing a big group with another date, we are always concerned with the safety of those that paddle with us. It was better than expected, only 1 portage, a monster across the banks, was an easy hope over or postage. We did some minor clearing of branches so future paddlers will not catch a limb in the face, or able to have clear path to follow.
We went about 30 yds after the take-out at Ross Rd and cleared that section, Mitch would have been proud of me, waist deep in water with saw going at it, this area is clear in that section now.
We are looking at going down to the confluence of Cape Fear and Upper Little River and clearing that section and as far as we can go. As this would give us an easy paddle down the river to Erwin Take-out also.
Van grabbed Jezebel, ( my boat's name ), apparently she did not like it, and Van may have a black eye for that one, sorry about that buddy, she is a touchy beast 🤫 She is my lady after all👍
